One in five women in Australia found to have experienced stalking – most by a man they knew

2021-22 Personal Safety Survey finds 2 million women and 650,000 men have experienced stalking since the age of 15

One in five women in Australia have experienced stalking, with women most likely to be stalked by a man they know, according to new results from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Two million women in the country (20% of the adult female population), and 650,000 men (6.8%), have experienced stalking since the age of 15, according to new results from the 2021-22 Personal Safety Survey, released today.
